The Shaftesbury & Gillingham Beekeepers Association is a thriving informal group of people who all share in the joy and fascination of keeping bees.   Whether you are an expert or beginner, you are most welcome to join and benefit from the knowledge and skills of its members.

The Association is a branch of the Dorset County Beekeepers Association which has been in existence since 1885 and is part of the British Beekeepers Association.

New members are most welcome and support is freely given.  If you are simply after your first hive of bees or you need guidance and advice in other areas, the association is always there to help..

The association is also lucky enough to have its own official Bee Equipment Supplier who is an agent for one of the UK’s leading companies, Maisemore Apiaries, in Gloucestershire.    Other areas of expertise include a member who specalises in Queen Rearing and the supply of new nucleus hives for members and a lot of willing beekeepers to remove swarms from public areas.
